Do you have an unhealthy, unattractive, and dysfunctional smile because of a missing tooth? If so, it’s time to replace that tooth and restore your oral health and smile! If you’re the right candidate, your dentist, Dr. Bruce Brumm, might recommend doing so with a dental bridge. A bridge is a strong restoration that is made of dental crowns and one or more false teeth. It’s anchored in your mouth by the healthy remaining teeth in your smile.

Dental bridge treatment
To start, your dentist will numb the teeth and gums with a numbing agent to help you feel comfortable during your visit. Then, he will prepare the anchoring teeth by trimming their enamel. After the trimming process, he will make an impression of the mouth and will send that impression to a dental lab where technicians will custom make your dental bridge and send it to our office. As you wait, your dentist will place temporary crowns on each anchoring tooth so you can use them.

Dental bridge care
The good news is that your dental bridge can last a lifetime. However, it only lasts this long if you take good care of it. So, care for it like your other teeth by brushing when you wake up and when you’re about to head to bed, flossing and rinsing daily, and visiting our office for your checkups every six months.
